56 tools · Translate PDF: a Word file in another language, checked side by side

2026-10-02

  • Translate PDF: drop a PDF with a text layer, or a scan in one of the 11 OCR languages, and get the document in another language as a Word file that keeps the page layout — one section per source page with its page size, margins and columns, and headings, paragraphs and tables rebuilt the way PDF → Word rebuilds them. The source language is detected from the PDF and its text and can be changed; 39 languages are offered, and Chrome is asked which pairs it can do before you start
  • Where the text goes is said on the screen before you start: in desktop Chrome, Chrome’s built-in translator works on the device, and the first use of a language pair may download a language pack; Edge’s translator is labelled as your browser’s, not as on-device, until Bindery has checked that Edge never hands text to a cloud service. With your own AI key — the settings Ask this PDF uses — the full text of the pages you translate goes to the provider you chose after you tick consent for that job; Bindery sends only to api.openai.com, api.groq.com, openrouter.ai, api.mistral.ai and an Ollama server on your own computer, and refuses any other address, its own included, before a request is made
  • A side-by-side review, page by page, before anything is written: flags on numbers missing or changed in the translation, passages left untranslated or in the wrong language, lengths out of proportion and words OCR was unsure of; edit any passage, keep the original text, or translate it again — to Chrome’s translator only when it failed, or to your own key, after you tick consent again if the job used Chrome. The review downloads as a two-column Word file too
  • Translation packet: one ZIP with the original PDF untouched, the translation, a translator’s statement as Word — and as PDF when the standard fonts can draw it — the optional side-by-side review and a README with the original’s SHA-256 and every engine and host that produced text. The statement is in English, for the person who checked the translation to fill in and sign; Sign the statement opens it in Sign. Bindery does not certify, notarize or swear translations, and the statement and the README say so
  • Word output for every language: Arabic and Hebrew come out right to left, and for every non-Latin script the original fonts are dropped so Word picks one that can show it. No translated PDF yet: a PDF written from the translation would lose the page-by-page match with the original, and the standard PDF fonts Bindery can use without downloading a font (Helvetica) draw only a basic Western European character set. A scanned page in a language with no OCR model is skipped and named in the review, not misread. A translation counts as one job, building the files afterwards does not, and the Word files are never branded. New pages: a translation packet with a translator’s statement, translate a PDF to English, and translate a PDF without uploading it

55 tools · Share less: send a bank statement without your spending

2026-10-02

  • Share less, a Bank statement mode in Redact: the Share less: bank statement… button at the top of the Redact side panel reads the statement on your device with Bank statement to Excel’s reading — its columns, date order and running-balance check — and offers four purposes. Proof of funds keeps the dates, the running balance and the opening and closing balances; Proof of income shows in full the rows that look like income — credits described as salary, payroll, wages, pension, benefit, Universal Credit, child benefit, DWP, HMRC, rent received, invoice paid or dividend, or the same in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or Portuguese, and payers who pay in two or more times with similar amounts, never refunds, transfers between your own accounts, cash deposits or interest — ticked in a list you can change; Proof of address hides every transaction and every balance, the opening and closing ones included; Choose rows shows only the rows you tick. Show balances, Show dates and Mask account numbers change what is left showing
  • Box everything else hides by default: in the transaction table, everything not explicitly shown is boxed, line by line with no gap between lines; outside it, amounts such as “Total paid in” are boxed (Proof of funds keeps the opening and closing balances), and account and card numbers, and sort codes labelled as such, are masked to their last four digits. The boxes go on the Redact page preview, replacing earlier statement boxes and keeping your own, and you can drag to add more; boxed pages are re-rendered as images, so the hidden text is removed, not covered
  • Boxes more, not less: when a printed running balance does not follow from the transactions before it, or the statement prints no running balance, every line with an amount and everything between them is boxed, and Proof of income ticks no rows by itself; a page with amounts but no transactions read is boxed the same way. The reasons are listed, and the redaction asks you to confirm you checked every page
  • After the redaction, Leak Check runs on the result and the done screen says what it found; the redaction log gains a Share less section with the purpose, the rows shown and hidden, the masked numbers and any reasons. Document metadata is still stripped by default. Bank statement to Excel’s done screen links to Share less with the same file. Digital statements only: a scanned statement needs OCR first. Pages without text are listed and get no boxes; when no page has text, Share less does not run. Recipients may ask for the full statement or a bank-certified copy, and some do not accept redacted statements. New pages: hide transactions on a bank statement, a bank statement for proof of funds, and a bank statement for proof of income

55 tools · E-invoice guard: read, keep and check Factur-X and ZUGFeRD invoices

2026-10-01

  • Read an e-invoice: a PDF that carries a Factur-X, ZUGFeRD or XRechnung XML (factur-x.xml, zugferd-invoice.xml or xrechnung.xml in its embedded files) is recognised in Upload-ready and the Read e-invoice panel, which show its kind, version and conformance level, the attachment’s relationship (Data, Alternative or Source) and the PDF/A part its XMP declares, and the invoice read from the CII XML as a table — seller, buyer, invoice number, issue and due dates, currency, line items, tax breakdown, totals and payment terms with the IBAN — with Download the XML. ZUGFeRD 1.0’s older schema is read too; XRechnung in UBL syntax is not shown as a table
  • Consistency check: the invoice number and the grand total (GrandTotalAmount) from the XML are looked for in the text of the PDF pages in the usual number formats (1190.00, 1,190.00, 1.190,00), and a value that cannot be found is flagged; Upload-ready’s e-invoice rule reports whether the file is a hybrid invoice and whether the XML and the PDF agree
  • Keep the XML: before Compress, Merge, Flatten, Watermark, Organize, Upload-ready’s fix or Leak Check’s Sanitize rewrites a hybrid invoice, Bindery warns that the attached XML is the legal invoice and offers to continue and keep it, or cancel. Keeping it re-attaches the embedded file with the /AFRelationship on its file specification, lists it again in the catalog’s /AF entry, and restores the original XMP packet — its PDF/A-3 identification, the fx: XMP description and its PDF/A extension-schema declaration — with the output intent; when merging, only the first document’s XML can be kept. Upload-ready rules that forbid attachments or metadata, and the PDF/A-2b rule, stay unmet when the XML is kept
  • Bindery does not validate the invoice against the full EN 16931 schematron; it reads and preserves. Other tools that write a new PDF — Split, Extract pages, Delete pages, Mix, Unstack, Remove metadata and PDF to PDF/A among them — do not check for an e-invoice and can drop the XML, so keep the original. New pages: read a Factur-X / ZUGFeRD invoice, compress a Factur-X PDF without breaking the e-invoice, and extract the XML from a ZUGFeRD PDF

55 tools · Court bundle: one PDF with a linked index, page numbers and bookmarks

2026-10-01

  • Court bundle in Application pack: when the court checklist makes one combined PDF, the bundle opens with an index listing every document and its bundle page range, each entry a live link to the document’s first page; documents go in checklist order, then any you add
  • Bundle page numbers on every page, the index included and numbered first — “Page 1 of 240”, or with a prefix such as A1 — in the bottom-right margin, and a bookmark for every document with its range, such as “Witness statement of J. Smith (pp. 12–30)”; the index and the bookmarks quote the same numbers
  • Checks before download: pages without text get searchable text within the OCR allowance, and pages beyond it are listed; page images above 300 dpi are reported, and the bundle’s pictures can be re-encoded at up to about 300 dpi with the engine Compress uses, which re-encodes every picture, not just the flagged ones; the file is set to open on page 1 at 100% with the bookmarks showing, in viewers that follow a PDF’s opening settings; Leak Check’s byte-level checks — earlier saved versions, orphaned objects, carriers — run on the file you download
  • Size: a 36 MB preset (a common UK court email limit) and a 35 MB per-file preset (CM/ECF limits differ by court), or your own figure; over it, Split into volumes keeps the numbering running from one volume to the next, and each volume opens with an index of the documents it holds, linked to their first pages. Set up the way court e-bundle guidance usually asks; check your court’s practice direction

55 tools · Fill forms finds the fields on flat digital PDFs

2026-10-01

  • Find the fields: when a PDF has no form fields, Fill forms offers to find them, and Create form gains a Detect fields button. On a form made on a computer, Bindery reads the lines and boxes the page is drawn with — answer lines, rectangles, checkbox squares and rows of equal boxes — and its text — underscore and dot leaders, ☐ and □ glyphs, a “Label:” with empty space after it, empty table cells — and proposes text, multi-line, checkbox and comb fields, each named from the printed label nearest it
  • Every proposed field is outlined on a render of the page with its label, and can be switched off, renamed, changed to another kind or deleted before anything is written. Radio groups and dropdowns are not detected, and a signature line is proposed as a text field, switched off
  • Output: a fillable PDF with real AcroForm fields named from their labels, each label as the field’s tooltip and comb fields with one character per box, sitting on the lines and boxes the form already prints; or a copy filled from My details and what you type, optionally flattened
  • Detection works on digital forms only; scanned forms are not supported yet. XFA forms are recognised and explained rather than detected

55 tools · Receipts to expense pack: receipts to Excel, matched to your card statement

2026-10-01

  • Receipts to Excel: drop receipt photos and e-receipt PDFs, and a card or bank statement if you have one. In a photo the receipt is found, flattened and read with OCR on the device; a PDF is read from its own text. Each receipt gives its date, merchant, number, subtotal, tax lines with their rates (VAT, GST, HST, MwSt, TVA, IVA, BTW), tip, total, currency, card last four and VAT number, each tied to the box on the receipt it came from and shown as a crop on click — no AI model guesses a value
  • The total is taken after TOTAL, AMOUNT DUE, AMOUNT PAID, CARD, Summe, Total TTC or Importe, with SUBTOTAL, Total savings, CHANGE, CASH TENDERED and TIP lines skipped; a row whose subtotal, tax lines and tip do not add up to the total within a cent (or, where the prices include the tax, whose subtotal and tip do not) turns red, a value OCR was unsure of is amber, and receipts with the same date, amount and merchant are flagged as a possible duplicate
  • With a statement, receipts are paired one to one with charges by exact amount, a posting date up to 5 days after the receipt and the merchant’s name with SQ *, TST*, PAYPAL * and store numbers taken off, into Matched, Receipts without a charge and Charges without a receipt; a charge up to 25% higher at the same merchant is matched with the flag “tip?”. Currencies are not converted, so a receipt paid in another currency usually lands in Receipts without a charge; a charge within 3% of a foreign receipt’s printed amount is flagged “FX?” for you to check
  • Output: expenses.xlsx with Expenses, By category, Statement match, Missing receipts and Checks sheets, a CSV, expense-pack.pdf with a summary page and each receipt on its own page stamped R-001 · date · total and bookmarked, fitted under an email attachment limit where it can be, with the real size shown, and a ZIP of the originals renamed by date, merchant and amount. Categories are remembered per merchant; the whole report counts as one job

55 tools · Unstack: one scanned PDF in, every document out, split and named

2026-10-01

  • Unstack: drop one PDF — a scanner stack or a phone-scan session — and Bindery proposes where each document starts from page numbers (“Page 2 of 5”, “Seite 2 von 5”, “Página 1 de 3”, “Page 2 sur 5”, “Pagina 2 di 5”), blank separator sheets, invoice and reference numbers labelled at the top of the page, letterheads, labelled dates, header and footer lines, document type and orientation; a page that begins “continued”, “Fortsetzung”, “continuación” or “(suite)” joins the page before, and one that ends “continued on next page” joins the page after
  • Scanned pages have only their top and bottom strips read with on-device OCR, which uses none of the free OCR allowance; blank pages are found from their ink, left out of the documents and kept with a click, and a run of them cuts once, so one click joins across it
  • Every cut is drawn between the thumbnails — solid when confident, dashed when a guess — with its reasons in a tooltip, and toggled with a click or the Space key; each document gets a type (invoice, receipt, bank statement, letter, and with Tax season on W-2, 1099, 1098, 1095-A, K-1 and SSA-1099 forms) and a name such as 2025-01-31_Invoice_Acme_Supplies_Ltd, with Social Security, employer identification, card and bank account numbers and email addresses taken out of names and the index
  • Output is a ZIP of PDFs with unstack-index.csv, or one PDF with a bookmark per document, optionally searchable and compressed; Compare with last year’s index lists the types and senders that are missing this time. Finding the cuts uses no job; downloading counts as one

55 tools · Leak Check: find what a redaction left behind

2026-10-01

  • Leak Check: drop a PDF and see what it holds that the page does not show — text from earlier saved versions, orphaned objects, text under a box, a picture or an annotation (judged from the rendered page), text under 1 point or off the page, redaction marks never applied, hidden form field values and layers, page thumbnails, bookmark titles with personal data, metadata, attachments and scripts
  • Findings are ranked by severity — high when the recovered text contains an email address, a Social Security, card or IBAN number or a labelled date of birth — and masked to the first and last character of each word; the plain-text report carries SHA-256 fingerprints of the file before and after a fix
  • Fix in Redact opens Redact with a box on every finding that has a place on a page; Sanitize and re-check writes the file as one version without orphaned objects, thumbnails, hidden field values, metadata, attachments or scripts, then checks it again. Checking uses no job; Sanitize counts as one

55 tools · rename PDFs by content, and a year of bank statements at once

2026-09-30

  • Rename by content: many PDFs named from what is inside them — the document date (the invoice date, not the due date), an invoice or reference number, the total, the sender and the title — with a pattern such as {date}_{from}_{number}; every proposed name is shown with what was found, the files themselves are not changed, and a CSV of old and new names comes with the ZIP
  • Bank statement → Excel reads several statements in one go: they are put in date order, each closing balance is checked against the next opening balance, and the transactions come out as one sheet with a column naming the statement

51 tools · application packs, bank statements to Excel, photos and signatures to size, upload-ready files and a translated interface

2026-09-25

  • Bank statement → Excel: transactions from a statement PDF to Excel, CSV or QIF, with every printed balance reconciled against them so a misread row is named
  • Photo & signature to size: a photo or signature at the exact pixels and KB range an exam, visa or job form asks for — framed by hand, measured on the real JPG, brought up to a form’s minimum without changing the picture, with a clean-up that makes signature paper white
  • Application pack: checklists for visa, job, university, rental and court applications; PDFs and phone photos are placed on the checklist by their names, each document is named the portal’s way, fixed and fitted under its limit, and the pack comes as a ZIP or one PDF with a contents page and bookmarks, with a checklist of what is ready, missing or needs you
  • Upload-ready: check a PDF against where it is going and fix size, locks, fillable fields, scripts, attachments, metadata and page size in one pass; scanned pages get searchable text in the same pass, and Social Security, card and IBAN numbers and dates of birth are flagged for Redact
  • Compress to an exact size: type a limit such as 200 KB and get the best quality that fits, measured on the file, then compare it with the original side by side
  • Pipelines gain Fit under a size and Upload-ready steps, so a whole folder can be made portal-ready
  • My details: fill PDF forms from a private profile that stays in this browser
  • Screens, tool cards and fixed messages in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish, downloaded only when the language is chosen
  • Sizes typed the way people write them: 1,5 MB, 500 Ko, 1 500 Ko

Sealed form intake, scan compression, deeper signature requests, pricing and 100 new pages

2026-09-03

  • Form links: publish a fillable PDF as a link; fillers complete it in their browser and their answers are encrypted to your key (ECDH P-256, HKDF, AES-256-GCM) before upload — export answers as CSV or open each response
  • Scan compression: text-like scans are split into a CCITT G4 text mask and a low-resolution JPEG background, drawn through a form XObject so OCR layers survive; text stays crisp at a fraction of the size
  • Signature requests: templates, access codes that wrap the key inside the link, bulk send (one sealed request per person), the team logo on the signing page, one-click email reminders, and a signed-with-Bindery landing for every signer
  • Watch folder in Chrome and Edge without installing anything; desktop installers now build in CI on every tag
  • Pricing page, a Server plan for self-hosted bindery serve with offline license keys, a referral program (a month each), yearly as the default, and free-tier caps on file size and OCR that Pro removes
  • Pages by need (compress to 200 KB, split under 10 MB, every tool per platform), industry pages, and the iLovePDF, Smallpdf and PDF24 comparisons in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian

A status page, a security page, and usage counts you can switch off

2026-09-03

  • /security lists every service the app talks to, what each receives, retention, subprocessors, abuse controls and how to report a vulnerability
  • Usage counts: daily totals of tool opens, finished jobs, paywalls and checkouts — event name, tool name, number; no identifiers; honours Global Privacy Control; a footer switch turns them off
  • The Pro modal says why it opened; scheduled sweeps purge expired reviews, usage rows and sealed packages; a live smoke test (npm run check:live) proves the production surface
