Only embedded images are resampled and re-encoded, and only when the result is at least 8% smaller; text is never rasterized and duplicated resources are stored once, so compressing twice does no harm. The job runs in a background worker and can be cancelled without counting against the day. A memory guard at intake matters more on a 4 GB Chromebook than on a desktop: it tells you what the device can hold before a large scan is loaded, and files above 200 MB should be split first. Installed from Chrome’s menu, Bindery works offline and saves straight to a folder.
