The files stay in the browser tab — there is no upload endpoint — so contracts, statements and scans are combined on your Mac and downloaded from your Mac, and your originals are untouched. Merge writes a real outline, so a document built from several files keeps a bookmark per source. Use it as a web page, or install it as an app from the browser menu and it keeps working offline; in Chrome or Edge the installed app can also open PDFs from Finder with “Open With”. For pages interleaved between documents rather than files stacked end to end, Mix pages does that on one board.

Why not just use Preview?
You can, and for two files it is fine. Preview merges by dragging thumbnails between sidebars, which is easy to get wrong and easy to save over the original with. Bindery shows every file’s first page on a board, keeps your originals untouched, and writes bookmarks for each source.
Does it need to be installed?
No — it runs as a web page in any current Mac browser. If you use it often, install it from the browser menu: it opens in its own window, keeps working offline once loaded, and in Chrome or Edge can be chosen as the app that opens PDFs from Finder.
Is there a size or page limit on a Mac?
Not one that Bindery imposes; your Mac’s memory is the practical limit, and a guard at intake says how much this machine can hold. Free use includes ten completed jobs per UTC day and every one of the 47 tools, with no account required.
